It has a similar taste to Baqlava, but the advantage is that it is really easy to make. &$.( ,1*5(',(176 - 1 cup All-purpose flour - 1 cup Sugar - 1 cup Vegetable oil - 1½ cup finely ground Almond - 4 Eggs - 1 tsp ground Cardamom - 1 tsp Baking Powder - ½ cup Rose Water 6<583 ,1*5(',(176 - ½ cup Sugar - ¼ cup Rose Water - 1 tsp Cardamom - ½ cup Water 6<583 35(3$5$7,21 Mix the syrup ingredients and bring them to boil on the stove and put the mixture aside for later use. &$.( 35(3$5$7,21 1. Beat the eggs. 2. Then mix in the sugar, oil, ground almond, rose water, and cardamom. 3. Beat the mixture well and then mix all purpose flour and baking powder with the mixture. 4. Pour the mixtures in an 11” by 13” greased pan and bake it for 30-35 minutes in the pre-heated oven of 350 degrees. 5. Immediately after you take the cake out of the oven pour the syrup all over the cake and let it stand for at least two hours. 6. Now you can cut the cake in small squares or diamond shape pieces and enjoy it. SUGGESTION: Pyrex pans are the best to use for this recipe. Funny how $10 looks so big when we take it to the masjid and so small when we take it to the store. Funny how big an hour serving Allah looks and how small 60 minutes are when spent surfing the net or watching T.V. Funny how laborious it is to read a chapter in the Quran and how easy it is to read - 200-300 pages of a best selling novel. Funny how far the masjid seems 10 minutes away but the commute to work isn’t that bad. Funny how we are quick to complain why the Islamic Bulletin is being delayed when we are not volunteering to speed its production. Funny, isn’t it? FUNNY, ISN’T IT?
